St. Anne Finance Committee

Per Cannon Law and the Pagella and Policies of the Diocese of Baton Rouge each parish is required to have a Finance Council.

The present Finance Council of St. Anne Church was formed in June 2005 and serves as the principal advisor to the pastor in the administration and stewardship of parish finances, budget, parish facilities and long range financial development. It consists of 5 members recommended by the council or the Pastor and appointed by the Pastor on the basis of their skills in accounting, business and engineering. The council meets quarterly to review the finances of the parish and to administer the other needs of the parish.

KEY FUNCTIONS OR DUTIES:

  • Monitor financial reports
  • Assist with and/or prepare annual budget for parish
  • Authorize expenditures
  • Obtain cash bids for projects and oversee new construction and maintenance projects
  • Present annual Financial Statement to congregation
  • Obtain Diocesan approval for expenditures over $15,000
  • Coordinate fund raising
  • Monitor the routine maintenance needs of the parish facilities
  • Develop long range financial plans for the future needs of the parish
  • Resolve personnel issues and monitor personnel salaries
  • Communicate with Pastoral Council for furthering of parish mission
